watching you, watching me, watching me

This video was used during a performance on an audience of 20 people.
It was a social experiment based on the question:
Can one ever genuinely empathize with another being?

The audience was forced into a simulated experiment, where they were given a mask that was a replica of the artists face, and wearing this mask throughout the duration of the video.

The experiment was a success in its failure.
Aiming to highlight the space between the artist and the participant, the distance, the confusion, and the changed perspective when one is conscious of another.

How far are we willing to go to understand? Will we ever understand? Do we care?
